Know Before You Go:

• Purchase your pass/day-use fee before arriving at the trailhead.

• This is an excellent trail to visit during shoulder season as the snow provides an element of interest to the normally arid, barren landscape.

• If you hike here in the summer, bring lots of water as the climate is very dry.

• We recommend hiking the loop counterclockwise for the best views.

• This trail is best done in the late afternoon if you're looking for good photography light.

• You can find bathrooms just down the road at the Coldwater Lake parking lot.

• A short, family-friendly trail.

• If you’re looking for a longer hike, take the spur up to Loowit Point.
