Know Before You Go:

• If you aren't up for the whole 18 mi Desolation Trail, opt for this shorter version.

• Unlike Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, dogs are allowed in Millcreek Canyon so this trail is dog-friendly.

• There are multiple switchbacks so be sure to bring traction devices during the winter months when there is snow and ice on the trail.

• Stop by the Log Haven for a post-hike snack afterwards.

• This is a great trail for viewing amazing fall colors.
