Know Before You Go:
Dog friendly trail.
All overnight and day hikers are required to self register at the trailhead.
An offline map is a MUST for this trail. The last 1.5 miles of trail is extremely steep, traverses loose dirt and scree and is difficult to follow. If you go slowly and have shoes with good traction you should do fine.
If you do the hike later in the day most of your toughest climb will be in the shade - just be sure to leave enough daylight to come back down.
Follow the trail all the way to the left around the lake for the best views and a bonus waterfall!
This is a popular spot and the lot fills up quickly even on weekdays.
