Know Before You Go:
- This is a top snorkeling spot on the Big Island so bring your own snorkel gear! 
- Kayaking rentals are also available after you hike down to the ocean. 
- Bring bug spray; mosquitoes are in the tree line near the monument. 
- Trail can be muddy; be careful after a rainy day and wear shoes with good traction.
