Know Before You Go:
- Purchase your pass/day-use fee ahead of time.
- The final 12 miles of road to the trailhead are quite rough and some sections require driving through standing water depending on the time of year.
- Self issuing backcountry permits are available at the trailhead for overnighters.
- The trail between Marmot and Jade Lakes can be hard to follow at times so be sure to have your offline map downloaded.
- Try to camp at Jade Lake if you can - it is worth making the final climb with your packs!
- If you are feeling extra ambitious, ascend the ice-field at the far side of Jade Lake by kayaking or swimming across to get views of Pea Soup Lake and Jade Lake from above.
